About Me

Hello world! My name is Emiley. I am a sinner saved by grace, wife to Kyle, mother of two, crochet enthusiast, and now blogger. I’m the luckiest girl in the world to be married to the most supportive man on planet Earth. I say I want to start a blog, and he spends his Friday night getting it up and running. Granted, he is a graphic designer, YouTuber, and all around tech-savvy guy. He’s that guy that when your phone doesn’t want to work, he just has to look at it and it magically cooperates. He’s the guy you want to hate, but you can’t. JK…mostly.

Anyways, I’m thankful to be called mommy by two amazing kiddos, Carter and Brielle. Carter is my soft-hearted, animal-loving, book nerd (like his momma!) and Brielle is my sassy girly girl. While we’re done having biological children (please God, don’t take that as a challenge) we would love to one day open our home to foster care.

By day I work as a client care coordinator at a specialty oncology and internal medicine veterinary practice. I love what I do, and even though some days are full of sadness, they remind us to treasure the happy days. I’m thankful that I have an amazing work family, and truly do love going to work. My heart longs to be a stay-at-home momma, but until that is a financial reality, I’m so very thankful to have a job that I love.

I have bounced around from craft to craft for years, and I always end up back with a hook in my hand. I guess it’s in my blood since my mom’s birthfather and adopted mother both crocheted. I love the idea of taking something simple like yarn and turning it into something beautiful and useful. I tried knitting to start out and just couldn’t get the hang of it, but I feel at home with a hook in my hand. I’ve struggled with tendonitis in my dominant hand since my daughter was born and have found Furls crochet hooks to be a lifesaver for my craft, so you’ll find they get a lot of love on this blog!

I hope you enjoy my posts. I’m not much of a designer, so I won’t be posting patterns, but I do have a lot to share about crochet, and I’d be happy if you joined me in my musings. There may be affiliate links in the future, but please know that those do not cost you anything, they just benefit me as if I referred you for the purchase.

Happy Crocheting!
